ᎹᎦᎵ, I'm interested. I have an Android phone and they do not come with any support for ᏣᎳᎩ natively and I haven't had the time to try to figure out how to root it to install the font. If this functions despite that, then good on ya, mate! :-) Let's see what else we can do with it!!

Just as an FYI:

Some android compatible 7" tablets have reached the under $100 price. You want at least 7" for a tablet and hopefully can find one running Android 2.3 or better. Here is an example, quality unknown, though spec sheet reads "OK").

I must be missing something basic. Is there sound associated with this app? It shows me a picture of 6 animals, and I would expect to be hearing the name of the animal so I can click on the right one. But I hear nothing. Is there some way to turn on sound?

I get this problem on both Droid X and Kindle Fire.

I just tried this again on my Droid X, and now I have sound. I didn't change anything.

I don't know why you would not have had sound! Yes, it is supposed to have sound, it also plays at whatever volume your "media/music" was last set to.

I test mainly on the kindle fire and have not noticed any audio issues.

I will be releasing an update "very soon now", perhaps this will prevent your audio issues.

New version posted to Amazon, awaiting their approval process:

In brief:

Added multiple pictures of many of the animals. (Based on user feedback).

Adjusted choice time out to be more forgiving towards the end of the entire set. (Based on user feedback).

Increased loudness of audio samples. (Based on observation of players).

Added menu at new game start to allow you to start off further into the exercise without having to repeat the beginning over and over. (Based on user feedback).

Added code to trigger repeat of audio when running out of time to make a selection. (Based on user feedback).

Changed "wrong" sound from the Cherokee "tla and uyoi" to a buzzer as it was noticed that young players were incorrectly associating these sounds to be the names of the animals. (Based on observation of players).

Look for technical details section at http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006RM ... B006RMX16U to see what version is posted. When it changes from 1.0 to 1.08 (or higher), the new version is available for download.

These look like useful changes. There is one further suggestion I would have: If I happen to guess the name of an animal correctly, reinforce this by displaying the picture of the animal one more time, repeating the name verbally again, and showing the name in tsalagi. That could help reinforce my memory of the name.
