8. Add a column on the front page that shows the last message that was edited/posted. (Not really sure how to explain it, but similar to linuxforums layout. At the top of the list of forums, there's 4 columns, the second one reads "Last Post".).

I have added two "buttons" to the front-page menu via feedburner. phpBB3 has built in feed links that can be fed into feedburner that then will make you an animated gif with <a> code that can then be inserted elsewhere....
